HRH Prince Philip attends one of his final royal engagements

Over the years I've been privileged to take pictures of many of the members of the Royal Family on numerous public visits & occasions. I have also been fortunate to be the photographer for some of the private royal visits they perform as Royal Patrons of organisations and charities.

Having photographed HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh several times before including for the Royal Academy of Engineering and other organisations, I feared I may have already photographed HRH for my last time when he announced retirement from royal duties earlier this year.

Thankfully I was asked to photograph HRH at one of his last royal engagements - Presenting awards at the Royal Institute of Navigation.

Despite his fearsome reputation towards photographers, I have thankfully never got on his wrong side and always found him to be a very likeable gentleman - A dynamic figure, smiling, curious, always interested in people and above all - always doing things on his own terms.
